Over the last few years there have been more and more reports of Carp poaching across the UK. I'm not about to point fingers or risk accusations being thrown around either but we do have an issue in the UK with the illegal removal of carp from still waters and rivers. What I am interested in is what is the answer to the problem. Lets not start wanting to string people up I'm looking for a sensible and reasonable solution.
This is a difficult issue to discuss and I would remind you all to follow the site rules please when commenting. Who knows though one of you out there may have the answer we are all looking for.
So I have three thoughts on the matter.
We increase the number of bailiffs and their powers and make make sentencing far harsher as the current punishment for poaching is not a deterrent.
We support fishery fishery owners to create carp lakes that operate like trout fisheries. You pay a much higher day ticket price and get to take your first two fish home for the pot
Both of the above?
