So before I review this case just would like to point out to anyone at Oxford http://www.oxfordproducts.com I tried to become a re-seller and put your Phone Case in our online shop and well, your rules around re-selling are just a bit unhelpful! So if I cant sell your product please support Master Angler Pro with a donation or promote us please, seems only fair.
So as an angler I am looking for a good quality, reasonably priced, water proof phone case that is adaptable to my fishing needs, works well with my touchscreen device and has a decent window for video and photos. Unfortunately most are ridiculously expensive or really poor quality or not adaptable to my changing needs, and I think I have found the perfect case. Take note Oxford http://www.oxfordproducts.com this is an untapped market and you heard it here first at Master Angler Pro
You can find Oxford products http://www.oxfordproducts.com in most good motorcycle shops in a town or city near you. I am a biker as well as an angler which is why I came across this little diamond in my local CMC Motorcycles cmcbikes.com . It retails for around the £20 mark and is packaged responsibly with minimal card well done Oxford http://www.oxfordproducts.com. It is a universal case and fits most phones but its a good idea to check before purchasing that it will fit yours. Its got a large clear front panel and a second smaller clear rear panel for your phones camera. It comes with a robust lanyard so you can wear it easily around your neck, useful when you need to stretch your legs, make a call, take a photo. It has an adaptable clamping system that's designed for motorcycle and push bike handle bars. That is great for anglers because that means it can be mounted on almost any rod, rod rest, rod pod, seat-box set up, tripod rests, chair frames, bed frames, umbrella poles, bivvie frames, in fact almost any bit of kit it can clamp round.
The case comes with 2 "U" clamps of slightly different lengths giving it great flexibility across your kit. When your clamp is in the right place the case will clip on to the clamp. Its is simple to attach the case to the clamp and detach from the clamp. The clamp clip is mounted to a nut and ball joint making the positioning of the case simple as you like just tighten up when your happy. If attaching to rods I would advise that even though it seems to be very well made and quite robust if you are beach casting for example remove the phone case from the clamp before you cast just to be on the safe side. I don't want anyone to watch their phone fly off into the distance. It fits my rod rests perfectly when I am coarse fishing, fits my tripod rest when I am sea fishing, and with the lanyard goes around my neck when I am catching on the fly. The only negative I have found with it is that it is quite fiddly to change over the "U" bolts in the field and it is too easy to drop the plastic retaining nuts, so think ahead and set it up at home.
It performs well in the rain with a magnet and duel clamps to seal the opening, the one I have has not leaked or steamed up. I am confident to leave it out during a downpour it looks and feels good in the hand or whilst using the phone. Its designed to go on bikes in the outdoors in almost any weather. Nothing is truly 100% water PROOF but this is damn close and hasn't let me down at all. Well done Oxford http://www.oxfordproducts.com on a great product.
The really great thing is when I am not using it for a fishing session I can mount it on my Yamaha XJR1300 and ride off into the sunset.
